Our houseboat is fully equipped (washing machine, dryer, microwave, stove, dishwasher). There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, one smaller one with a single bed that can be transformed into a double. And there's a study, Nienke's room when she works at home. Two toilets, a shower and a bath. Central heating system.

Our houseboat is near the Vondelpark, near shops and museums, but in a quiet part of Amsterdam (West). It's the last boat on the canal, so we have a great view. In summer it's a lively spot, in winter it's very quiet.
Public transport is nearby, but everything is at walking distance. You can use our bikes (three). Beach and beautiful coast is half an hour drive by car from Amsterdam. The airport Schiphol is 15 minutes by car. Very nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Theaters, movies and music halls are 5 minutes by bike.

We are a family of four: Nienke (50, editor/writer), Stefan (56, musician/producer), Nana (21, student conservatory) and Zeno (13, high school student). Nana lives on her own. We love living in Amsterdam, it's got so much to offer. But we love to travel as well and explore other places. Same as you :-)
Estilo de vida
We consider ourselves as a friendly, artistic family. We love nature, music, literature. Stefan has travelled over the world touring with his bands, Nienke has also travelled a lot. Nana is studying jazz at the conservatory, Zeno is in high school and loves playing soccer.

CA50835They were consistently considerate and accommodating in many respects, certainly beyond what might have been considered obligatory. Their home is accurately represented - we very much enjoyed the experience of our stay in a non-traditional setting, and would have liked to spend more time there. Maybe in the future... They took exceptional care of our home, and went out of their way to prepare for a set of guests who followed them. We were able to spend a few days visiting with them, and regret only that this opportunity to know them was so brief.
