Dear Intervac friends,

We are a family of three, Rafel, Chantal and our 13 year old boy, Lionel.

We live in a nice 100 m2 flat in Barceloneta, the old fishermen quarter, in the historical center, 5min walking to the beaches, and at a walking distance to almost all places of interest.

Typical apartments in this area are very small, they are called "quarter of flats", usually between 25 and 40m2, in narrow streets, narrow buildings, steep stairways, charming, but not that confortable to live in. We are fortunate enough to leave in one of the "luxurious" buildings of la Barceloneta, the construction is from 1903, Chantal's great great grandfather was the entrepreneur constructor and her family still owns the hole building that has been renovated several times. We have no vis à vis. In front, a small green area and behind that, the beautiful red brick stone building of the Catalunya History Museum and the marina.
It's a sunny flat with a cosy child ensuite room, a double master room and a guest room (single bed+trundle bed) it is comfortable for 4, can accommodate up to 5 people. The apartment has two bathrooms, kitchen and a 30 m2 living room with views to a green aerea. There is also a small patio. The apartment is confy and has all amenities, including air conditioning and mosquito nets, high speed wifi and international satellite 50"tv. For coffee lovers there is a Nespresso coffemaker. It's a non smoking apartment but you are welcome to smoke in the patio. In Lionel's room you will find a lot of toys according to his age.
We have had a cat for 15 years that unfortunately died in July 2021. Since we currently have no other pets, yours are welcome as long as they are not noisy or bothersome to our neighbours. We can also take care ouf your pets and garden with great pleasure.
Even thought we live in a building with a quiet community of neigbourgs, our apartment is in the heart of the city, if you are used to total silence you may find it somewhat noisy. The bedrooms are on the inside of the block and are quiet.
In Barcelona you can, on one hand, enjoy its 4km of beach and, on the other, enjoy the enormous cultural and gastronomic offer of our city.
Our son is allergic to dust mites. We can not stay in places with many carpets, blankets, tapestries or in general in spaces where there are many objects that can accumulate dust. :-(
We like to swap with clean and well mantained houses, like ours :-) We are very respectful of the home of others and we leave everything clean and tidy.
So far, we have had 14 successful house exchanges with Intervac families from Spain, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Ireland nad Danemark. We love this way of traveling. Several times we exchanged cars as well and it has been very convenient. We have a 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe to offer. If you travel and we travel by plane, we can agree to leave it at the airport for you to pick it up.

You can email in catalan, spanish, french and english, we understand italian and portuguese aswell but we are not able to write it.
