Would love Switzerland for 2025, or something near the border to enable train travel in. |

“Your house is absolute perfection”
“The perfect spacious house for any family. Toys, trampoline, very patient Alexa, garden from heaven and espresso machine!”
Winchester is a great base for exploring the South Coast of England and the New Forest, was the historic capital of England and boasts many excellent restaurants and cafes,
London is 1 hour away by train (four trains per hour into London Waterloo) and you can also reach Southampton, Bournemouth and Weymouth by train. You can also visit Stonehenge (35 minutes), Oxford (50 minutes), LegoLand (50 minutes) and the Harry Potter Studio tour (1 hour 10 minutes) with ease.
With young children, we would prefer swaps with other families so that we can exchange car seats, bikes etc, but all offers are very welcome and we'll consider any location.
Our house was built in 2017 and is detached with a good size garden. It has four bedrooms, all upstairs:
- Main bedroom with king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with double sink and shower (bedroom plus ensuite together are 6m x 6m)
- Second bedroom with another king-size bed
- Bedroom 3 with a single bed and pull-out single bed underneath
- Bedroom 4 with a single bed
There is also a family bathroom with bath, shower and sink upstairs.
Downstairs we have a large open-plan kitchen/dining/family space that has bi-fold doors opening onto our garden. Our kitchen is well-equipped with two ovens, a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, and an induction hob for cooking. We have a separate utility room with espresso machine, washing machine and a heated clothes dryer, a separate living room with sofa/comfy chairs and television, a small playroom full of children's toys, and a downstairs bathroom with toilet, sink and shower.
The garden has a trampoline, a football goal, and lots of grass to run around on!
We are situated 400 metres from a row of shops including two supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways, a pharmacy and doctor's surgery. It is 20-30 minutes walk from the centre of Winchester and the train station. Alternatively, there is a regular bus service (every 20 minutes) into the city centre that departs from just around the corner.

NL21442We had an excellent family holiday in Winchester. The spacious home and, even more, the garden is a lovely quiet
place to stay if you want to explore this part of England. However our kids didn’t like to leave the house; it was too much fun to stay and play with all the toys. The family gave us some good tips on where to swim next to all tourist information available. It was a very pleasant exchange, also for our pet Minoes, everything was taken care of very well.
