House built in 1895 and situated on a hill with superb views over the historic city of Edinburgh
Our home dates from 1895, has a total area is about 170 square metres and is attractively decorated throughout. Downstairs there is a beautiful lounge, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, toilet and utility room. Upstairs, there are three double bedrooms, one small study/library and a bathroom with separate shower.
Outside we have a small garden at the front of the house and a large garden at the back with two separate patios with tables and seats.
We are in the inner suburbs with excellent transport into the city centre. From our house you can actually be walking in open fields within two minutes and get up on to a volcanic hill with its observatory. The nearest golf course is within about 500 metres of our home. The amount of green space within the city is quiet incredible..... Edinburgh is the 'greenest' city in Britain with almost half of its total area classified as open space.
Edinburgh is possibly the most important festival city in the world with the annual arts festival being the largest anywhere and the New Year celebrations(Hogmanay) are famous.
Edinburgh is frequently voted most beautiful and liveable city in Britain and one of the most attractive in the world.
From our house/garden you can see two medieval castles, an ancient volcano named Arthur's Seat and the sea. It is also very easy to get out of the city with the East Lothian coast, the Scottish Borders and the Highlands very easy to reach.

Liberton was originally a village outside the city of Edinburgh. The village centre is still recognisable with its church, school and pub. The name derives from the fact that in Medieval time, lepers were sent out of the city and many ended upliving in "LEPERTOWN". James Bond(Sean Connery) briefly lived on Liberton Brae just after he made the first Bond film, Dr No.

About Our Family
Sometimes on our exchanges we travel with 1 or 2 friends.
Lifestyle
My wife and I have enjoyed our exchanges which we have done for more than 30 years. We are now both retired and this gives us more opportunities to exchange homes and at different times of the year. We especially enjoy travelling in Britain and the European mainland. We are very interested in art and enjoy visiting art galleries. We also like music, theatre, history and literature. For us Edinburgh is such a wonderful historic city to live in and has so many cultural activities.
