House in old centre of Amsterdam, Netherlands
Dear member,
Our 3-story house is situated right in the heart of Amsterdam. For instance the Rembrandt museum is only 4 minutes away on foot!
The Central station, the subway and the canals are all on walking distance.Yet the street we live in is part of a very quiet and homely neighbourhood.(and no direct neighbours! )
We have 4 bedrooms and a beautiful kitchen/livingroom wich is the best part of the house, since the ceiling is about 4 meters high and it has a glass roof. With 2 bedrooms there is also a balcony included.
On top of that if you climb the stairs there is also a lovely roofterrace where you can enjoy the sun!( of course we can't promise you the part about the sun!)
My profession is illustrator/author of children's picturebooks, so there is also a working studio downstairs.
But there won't be much time to sit down and make a drawing while you're visiting Amsterdam. There is just too much to see in the city!
The VanGoghmuseum, the Rijksmuseum and lots more..Furthermore is this area famous for its great chinese restaurants!
So if you'd like to spend your holiday in an old ,beautiful, yet quiet part of Amsterdam, contact us!

Other Quarters of Amsterdam
Depending on what your interests are, here are a few other quarters of Amsterdam that you might like to visit:
City Center: this heart of Amsterdam has a lot of everything; the Royal Palace, the Amsterdam Museum, the Beurs van Berlage, Dam Square, the shopping streets ‘Kalverstraat’ and ‘Leidsestraat’ and the malls ‘de Bijenkorf’ and ‘Magna Plaza’.
Red Light District: this neighborhood is situated near the city center and enjoys quite a reputation. Stroll along the windows with girls among hundreds of other curious tourists.
China Town: Amsterdam has a China Town just like any other major city. Chinese restaurant, oriental stores and even a Buddhist temple can be found in and around the ‘Zeedijk’ behind the Red Light District.
Mirror Quarter: If you are interested in art galleries and antique stores with all sort of historical objects you need to visit the ‘Spiegelkwartier’ (Mirror Quarter) behind the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
Jewish Quarter: the Jewish Historical Museum, the Hollandsche Schouwburg (The Dutch Theater) and the Portuguese Synagogue are situated in the Jewish Quarter and are well worth your time.
