Præstø, Dinamarca

First of all, this is our home, not a vacation house. The house has central heating in every room, including the bathroom, so its easy to keep the house warm.

When going to Copenhagen, we always drive to Vordingborg trainstation (20 mins.) Here you can park the car for free (we will make a map for you) and take the train to Copenhagen, it's 1 hour by train and very easy.

We have 4 supermarkets/grocery stores within 5 mins. drive from here. Two of them has a bakery, but there is also a small bakery in Præstø (5 mins)
All this we will put on a map for you.
Our neighbour sell organic vegetables during the season, so delicious!

As you see, we live at the Oremandsgaard Manor house estate, and we have some great things right here where we live, attracting people from near and far.

What to do right here:

1. Radius Destillery. Our local gin and whisky producer, making extraordinary drinks. Must try! Open thursday- saturday.

1. Artist Jacob Steen has his atelier here. Always working on new paintings, go and ask if you can see. Its beautiful..

1. Farmers market. The first saturday in each month this place is full of life, local producers, farmers, ceramics, flowers and food. Only 3 hours 11-14, don't miss this.

1. Chamber music festival. The most prestigeous and lovely classical music festival in Denmark is 2 mins. from here. Its in the end of July and if you enjoy classic music, you should buy tickets for at least one evening. There is usually 3 koncerts in 3 evenings, one koncert for the kids and one free koncert at Radius Destillery.

Where to eat:

1. Muldiverset A cozy restaurant loved by all the locals, 15 mins. from here. The food and drinks are excellent, mostly organic and locally produced. A place to relax and feel welcome..

1. Frederiksminde Our 1 michelin star restaurant, lovely for lunch or dinner. Beautiful surroundings and worth a visit!

3.Pomle Nakke
One of our favorites, about 45 mins south on the island Falster, right on the edge, looking out on the sea. When you go there, please take a long walk in the woods along the coast, it's very special.

1. In Copenhagen you can experience some real danish culture in the restaurant next to The Worker Museum. We will leave you a lot of recommendations for Copenhagen

What to see:

1. Louisiana Art museum North of Copenhagen in Humlebæk, you will find our favorite art museum. The train takes you there, its about 2 hours from here. Lots of art, lovely cafe, big garden/park with view to the sea.

1. The open air museum Also north of Copenhagen in Lyngby, you can see the real houses and buildings from hundreds of years ago to the 70'ies. So many things going on here, we no longer go to tivoli, the kids rather go to this place.

1. Glyptoteket This is a special place to visit, with all the ancient sculptures, the palm tree winther garden and the nice cafe inside. Its right next door to tivoli in Copenhagen.

Where to go in nature:

1. Møns klint Unesco list place to visit. In 10 mins. you reach the old bridge to the isle of Moen. Then you go by car for about 45 mins and you come to this spectacular place. So many stairs, bring your best shoes. There is also a geo center, you can buy tickets an see exhibition, learn about dinosaurs etc.

1. The forest tower This is also an opertunity to go very high above the trees and have an amazing view. 20 mins. from here.

3 Liselund castle and garden. On the isle of Moen, this historical place is great for a picnic. Take one of the guided tours, its very interesting. H.C. Andersen came to this place.

Malmø in Sweden is very close, take the train from Copenhagen central station, and you are in Sweden in no time..
