Detached house & large garden in enchanting Bornem, 30 min drive to some major Belgian cities
The house was built in 1995. It has a huge garden and big windows that make sure there is lots of natural light. There is a big garage and a playroom for the kids. We recently bought the house and moved in December 2025. The colours of the walls might change in the course of 2026. We will add pictures from the other bedrooms and the playroom once we have installed our furniture. There are four bedrooms. Outside there is a terrace with a big table and chairs to eat outside. We also have a barbecue you can use. The train station is at 1km from the house. There is a big recreational park (public and free playground, swimming pool) at 1km from our house. The centre of our vibrant town is a 5 to 10 minutes walk. There are many restaurants, bars and lovely shops.

We live in a lovely village that most people see as a little but vibrant town.
The children's farm has been voted to be the nicest farm in Belgium and The Netherlands.
Our shopping street (1km from our house) has a lot of restaurants and shops, but also very nice boutiques and shops.
The domain Breeven (1.1km) is a recreational centre where you can enjoy the scenery, go for a swim, play minigolf, tennis, etc. The nearest supermarkets are at 1 km from our house as well.
At 2km from our door a great forest / park can be found. Lovely for making long walks or to go biking.
We live at a 30 min drive from a lot of nice big Belgian cities (Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Mechelen.
And 50 min. from Louvain, the old university town. Bornem has a train station (2km from our house). Within an hour you can get to the heart of all these cities by train as well.

We had a wonderful vacation in Bornem. The surrounding area is quite urban and offers many attractions, such as museums, zoos, sights, etc. The Pauwels family has a very beautiful and modern house that lived up to the description. Communication was very pleasant.
We had a fabulous time in Bornem . It is a truly lovely place to spend some time . We did many day trips from here and our kids love to swim so we swam many times . Bornem is very close to everywhere in Belgium . We visited the coast 4 times and we went to all the major cities .If you love markets Belgium is for you !! We enjoyed Walibi and aqualibi on day trips ! Lovely house and intervac hosts 5 *****. We did lots of cycling We will definitely return to Belgium fabulous country and such friendly people so much more to explore 🇮🇪🇧🇪❤️
L'annonce est fidèle à la maison. L'échange avec mes partenaires a toujours été cordial et efficace. Nous avons annulé d'un commun accord une première fois cet échange à cause du COVID avant de le renouveler. Je remercie Liesje d'avoir fait l'effort d'une correspondance en français.

Enthusiastic family with children that loves to discover new areas
My name is Liesje (40) and I am a secondary school teacher (subject = English). My husband Jan (47) is a planner for Lineas (a company that transports goods by train). We recently bought a bigger house and moved in December 2025. We are very excited, as well as our children. We also love to travel and discover other places, which is the reason we enlisted on Intervac. We have done about 20 exchanges and loved each one. We have 2 children, our son Cyriel who is 6 years old ( October 2019) and daughter Rosalie - 4 - who was born in September 2021.
