Kendal, Gran Bretaña

My house is 150 years old in a quiet street with a little garden within a very short walk to Kendal's main shopping street with its restaurants, cafes, museums and very active music scene. I have a small garden and table/chairs and an allotment where I grow fruit and vegetables. Only 15 minutes from Windermere by easy bus route car or cycle, and onward to the wonderful lake district. By train we are 2.5 hours from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow (Newcastle 2 hours) and 90 minutes direct from Manchester Airport. 2 hours by road from Newcastle-upon-Tyne airport. We are 15 minutes drive from the M6 motorway

From the front door there is a lovely walk near the golf course with great views towards the peaks of the Lake district. Kendal has its ruined castle which belonged to one of Henry VIII's wives, Katherine Parr.

The river Kent is two minutes walk with many walks possible from the front door to the countryside above Kendal and its lovely views of the Lake District mountains ("fells"). My gym (riverside hotel) is ten minutes walk with a swimming pool. Guest passes are available at reasonable prices. I have an allotment garden where guests can pick seasonal flowers and vegetables.
