A cosy family home in the Swiss country side, nearby the cities of Berne and Fribourg and the Swiss Alps

Our house belongs to the lively and family-friendly neighborhood 'Strassweid' which is situated only 25 minutes from Berne (by train and car) and surrounded by quiet and beautiful nature with a view of the Swiss Alps. Both families and people who look for relaxation will feel comfortable here and the opportunities for activities are plentiful.

Major Swiss cities like Lucerne, Zurich or Basel can be reached within 1 1/2 h by train, by car it takes around 1 hour.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Bern, Belp - 15 km, 25 Minuten

Surrounded by meadows, forests and small rivers and the Natural Reserve Gantrisch (https://www.gantrisch.ch/), our house belongs to the family-friendly and safe neighbourhood Strassweid (http://www.strassweid.ch/impressionen.html). There are several playgrounds in the neighbourhood suitable for younger and older children.
Only 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bicycle is a locally well-known natural attraction: the two rivers Sense and Schwarzwasser forming a gorge (https://www.myswitzerland.com/de-ch/sense-und-schwarzwasser.html) which invites for a refreshing bath in summer and beautiful walks and picnics all year round. An exciting public outdoor pool can be found in nearby Köniz and the Bernese Lakeland is only 40 minutes by car. The Swiss Alps are on our doorstep, hiking and biking trails lead through our village and you can reach small ski resorts in 20 minutes by car and major ski regions in around 1 hour.

Our small village, Mittelhäusern, is well-connected to Berne, the beautiful capital of Switzerland (25 minutes to city center by train or car), the trains run every 30 minutes and from Berne you can get to most Swiss cities within 1 hour by train. The motorway is a 10 minutes-drive away. Other Swiss cities like Lucerne, Zurich or Basel can be reached within 1 1/2 h by train, by car it takes around 1 hour.
We have a small grocery shop in our village and several supermarkets and restaurants in nearby Köniz (10 minutes by car, 15 minutes by train).
