York, Gran Bretaña

This is a lovely area to be based in - there is so much to do! The town of York is very beautiful with the old cathedral, narrow medieval streets and old houses but with modern shops and cafés too. Not far away is beautiful countryside for all sorts of activities - hiking, picnics, horse riding, mountain biking - and national parks. We are on the direct train line to London and Edinburgh and we live not far from the city centre. We have a lovely small garden and our house (150m²) is cosy and we have a big new kitchen.We have had several successful exchanges and everyone seems happy with our home and city. Dans notre belle région il y a tant de choses à faire! On peut flâner dans les ruelles médiévales de la vieille ville de York entouré de vieux bâtiments qui abritent des magasins et cafés modernes. On peut visiter les musées et la cathédral et se promener sur les murs médiévaux. La campagne sauvage n'est pas très loin et on peut faire des randonnées, des pique-niques, de l'équitation, du VTT ... dans des parcs naturels. York est bien desservi par les chemins de fer et on arrive à Londres en deux heures et à Edimbourg en deux heures et demi. Nous habitons à 2 km du centre-ville et à 3 km de la gare dans un faubourg résidentiel. Nous avons une assez grande maison (150m²) et un joli jardin privé. En esta region muy hermosa hay mucho que hacer. En el centro histórico de la ciudad de York se puede pasear por las pequenas calles y los callejones rodeados por una muralla medieval y descubrir los museos y la catedral. El campo no está muy lejos y se puede ir de picnic o hacer senderismo o rutas en bicicleta en los parques naturales. Hay muchos pequenos pueblos tradicionales y una costa (a 60 km) que descubrir. Tenemos una casa bastante grande (150m²) con un jardín privado muy bonito. York es una ciudad bien conectada por los ferrocarriles y se llega a Londres en dos horas y a Edimburgo en dos horas y media. Nella nostra bella regione ci sono tante cose da fare:  nel centro storico di York a 2 km della casa c’è una catedrale storica e numerosi musei (soprattutto storici, presentati molto bene), e si può fare passeggiate nelle piccole strade medievali dove si trovano ristoranti e negozi moderni in edifici storici. La bella campagna ed i parchi nazionali non sono lontani e si può fare escursioni a piedi, andare a fare un picnic o fare mountain bike. La campagna selvaggia e tipica inglese è completamente diversa dalla campagna del sud dell'Europa e inoltre siamo a solo 60 km dal mare (falesie bellissime, paesi di pescatori/città di villeggiatura nei tempi passati, ora più calmo, da vedere). La stazione ferroviaria di York è sulla linea diretta fra Londra (due ore) e Edimburgo (due ore e mezzo). Abbiamo una casa abbastanza grande (150m²) con un bel giardino privato. In unserer schönen Gegend gibt es so viel zu tun! York hat eine ganz schöne, historische Innenstadt mit einer Kathedrale, verschiedenen Museen und kleinen mittelalterlichen Straßen, wo alte Gebäude moderne Läden und Lokale beherbergen. Die wilden und vielfältigen nordenglischen Landschaften (Heide, Küste, kleine Berge) sind nicht weit und man kann wandern gehen und die typisch englischen charaktervollen Dörfer entdecken. Wir sind nur 60 km vom Meer und mit der Bahn kommt man in 2 Stunden nach London und 2.5 Stunden nach Edinburgh. Wir haben ein ziemlich großes Haus (150m²) mit einem sehr grünen und privaten Garten.
