Easy to find your way around the island (or just hit the beach!). Loads of history to explore. Short drive to the State Park with walking and bird watching trails. Many cruises leave from the Galveston port. Easy 1 hour drive to downtown Houston, TX. Just 45 minutes to Hobby Airport (HOU), or 75 minutes to George Bush International Airport (IAH).

- Carnival rides and restaurants on the water at Pleasure Pier
- Moody Gardens - a complete complex featuring a rain forest, an aquarium, and a 3rd pyramid where the display varies, a water slide center and hotel with several restaurants, and day trips or evening meal cruises in the bay on their paddleboat
- Enjoy discovering historic downtown Galveston with a horse drawn carriage ride, an original rail trolley car ride, or just stroll the streets and shops on the Strand
- NASA Houston Space Center just a 45 minute car ride away
