House in Brooklyn near subway and parks
House in the heart of Brooklyn, near Prospect Park and Green-Wood Cemetery.
Walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores, and the subway.
We live in a two-family house on a quiet, tree-lined street, with a very nice tenant living upstairs. Our and our daughter's bedrooms are downstairs in the finished basement. The main level has an eat-in kitchen, living room, play/craft room, and... second living room. Both living rooms have a pull-out couch or futon, meaning in a pinch, there are four beds. Each floor has a bathroom. In the back, we have a bricked yard & garden, with a grill, pergola, and inflatable hot tub.
We have several bikes available to use (including a tandem), but no car (you don't need one in NYC). We have lots of Legos and kids' books.

Easy access to everywhere in New York City
-Two stops away from Park Slope.
-25 minutes on the subway to the beach and rides at Coney Island
-40 minutes to midtown (Penn Station, Empire State Building, etc)
-Further afield, you can take commuter railroads to the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, or New Jersey.
You can get here by transit from all three New York airports in about 90 minutes, or a cab in 45-80 minutes, depending on traffic.

Lovely house, a little ways out from central London. Many bus lines and a rail station are easy walking distance away. Monty the cat was a sweetie. Our house was in pristine condition when we returned home.

We had a great exchange with the family. We kept in communication before, during, and after the exchange and everything went smoothly. The house is roomy and the neighborhood is quiet, with all the necessary amenities.
A lovely house with garden and two very sweet cats. Quiet location in a safe area of Brooklyn with great connection to New York City by bus and subway. The swap was what we wished for and Nathan was always available for questions. The family took great care of the house, car and my cat Pua.

Rachael & Nathan have lived in New York City for about 15 years, and Lillian (8) her whole life. We have been in this house for about three years. We enjoy the car-free lifestyle in the city, but also hikes and nature. (As such, trips to Europe with its excellent transit are always high on our list.)
Nathan has participated in two Intervac home exchanges with his parents as a child (to Belgium and to Bristol, England), and they have been active hosts with the Couchsurfing community.
We have two cats -- Skimbleshanks and Gambler -- and it would be great to arrange a swap where they could be fed.
