House in Cleggan, Connemara, Co. Galway, on The Wild Atlantic Way.
Our house is in the village of Cleggan in Connemara in the West of Ireland. Cleggan is a small tourist and fishing village 10 Km from Clifden and 80 Km from Galway City. It is situated in a very scenic area close to many beautiful beaches and tourist attractions such as Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park, Killary Harbour etc. It is also on the "Wild Atlantic Way" route. From Cleggan, it is also possible to visit the Island of Inishbofin or go sea fishing.
There are shops, pubs and a restaurant in the village and further shopping can be done in Clifden.
Our house is a holiday home built in 1990. It has a large sitting room/kitchen, bathroom with shower, sun room and 2 bedrooms – 1 with a double and single bed and the other with a double bed.
The house has central heating, satellite television, stereo, DVD player, washing machine, cooker, microwave and fridge. There is no telephone but there is mobile phone reception with internet access. There is a large garden but it is not cultivated.
Our house - just 50m from the sea, has beautiful views overlooking Cleggan Bay, and is only 200m from the village. There are many beautiful walks in the area and it is possible to enjoy the sun setting over Inishbofin Island in the evening from the sun room. Cleggan beach is 300m from our house and there are many other beautiful beaches close by. The house has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere and we enjoy staying there as often as possible.

Our house is located beside the sea in the fishing village of Cleggan. From Cleggan it is possible to go on fishing trips or visit the island of Inishbofin (40 minute ferry trip). There are many beautiful beaches and walks nearby.
Other attractions are Clifden(10Km), Leenane((30Km), Westport(64Km), Galway(88Km), Roundstone (24Km), Connemara National Park(10Km), Kylemore Abbey(15Km) and of course the wonderful wild scenery of Connemara.

Su casa venia bien reflejada en el anuncio pero visitarla y vivir en ella fue una experiencia que no me importaria repetir el lugar, las vistas la comodidad de la casa son estupendas. hasta ahora es ekl mejor intercambio que he realizado y eso que los anteriores también han sido muy buenos
La maison de Bill et Paula est magique. La vue depuis les baies vitrées ou la pergola sur l'océan est une pure merveille, une carte postale. La maison est très confortable, très propre. Ils nous avaient laissé tout ce qu'il faut pour notre arrivée et pour découvrir la région. Une région très belle : océan, montagnes, lacs, sous une météo bien Irlandaise. Et dans le village un super resto. Un des plus beaux échanges que nous ayons réalisé.

We are both retired teachers and live near Skerries - north of Dublin.
We have made 22 previous exchanges - 20 in France, 2 of which were repeat exchanges, 1 in Spain and 1 in The Netherlands. Our children no longer travel with us as they are adults.
Our preference is to return to France but we are open to other offers and we are flexible regarding dates. Our preferred exchange duration is 3 weeks or longer.
