Modern flat in Edinburgh
We stay near the centre of Edinburgh, on the first floor of a modern building with a well-maintained shared garden at the back. The living area is open plan, spacious and bright. The kitchen area has all the usual modern appliances. We have Wi-Fi. There is a lift and secure entry system.
The bedrooms are at the back and are very peaceful and relaxing, with en-suite available. There is also a bright, comfortable sitting-room overlooking the garden at the back of the flat.

Our flat is within 5 minutes walking distance of a very pleasant park and a canal. To walk into the city centre takes about 40 minutes. But the bus services are excellent, the service is frequent and there is a bus stop just outside our flat!
By walking along the canal you can easily reach a cinema, theatre and a selection of bars and restaurants if you do not wish to go into the city centre. Walking in a different direction takes you to pleasant shopping streets in the localities of Bruntsfield and Morningside. There is a small supermarket near us (100m) which is open until 10pm.
The attractions of Edinburgh are well known, and all are easily reached by Edinburgh's extensive bus service. A few miles south, there are possibilities for not too strenuous hill-walking in the Braid Hills or Pentland Hills. Craiglockhart Hill is easy and local. No bus would be necessary. There are many open green spaces in Edinburgh, and its attractive coast line stretches from Cramond to Leith. A little further is the seaside town of Portobello, where there are even possibilities for swimming! A mile further on, Musselburgh provides excellent coastal walking and a busy high street.
Buses and trains to most parts of Scotland are frequent from the centre of Edinburgh.

We had a really great time in Scotland. Two weeks of beautiful weather was a big surprise. The flat was very nice, well equipped and very conveniently located. Our hosts were so kind as to hand over the flat to us in person. They gave us lots of good tips, which helped us a lot. We can highly recommend these hosts.
